A hidden spot by the Waal
De Leeuwenbergh lies at the foot of the dyke, right next to the floodplains of the river Waal. It is a small holiday retreat in Boven-Leeuwen, in the heart of the river country of Gelderland.
From your door you walk or cycle straight into nature. You follow winding dyke roads, see cows grazing on the floodplains and look far out over the water. Here, nature sets the pace of your day.

When evening falls, De Leeuwenbergh grows quiet. Owls call among the apple trees and the sun slowly sets.
In the morning you wake up to the birds and the soft light in the colourful garden on the dyke. With a bit of luck you will spot a little owl, swallows or a bird of prey dropping by.

About us
We are Edith and Arend
After many happy years in Alkmaar, we wanted to live closer to nature. We found that place here: between the rivers Maas and Waal, on the dyke in the river landscape.
Here we started De Leeuwenbergh, a small retreat built around peace, space and hospitality. Every day we enjoy the quiet, the birds and the view along the river. We would love to share that feeling with you.
